About Tim

Tim Brown is an award-winning composer and producer based in Nashville Tennessee. He began his career as a protege of Bill Porter (TEC Hall of Famer). After working with Bill for several years he stepped out on his own and opened his own studio VML – which later became Downtown Recording.

His compositions have been heard in everything from Monday Night Football to McDonald’s commercials. Tim also composed the music for the television special Restoration which aired on PaxTV. When the #1 rated radio show Keep The Faith needed a new theme for their CCM and Country shows, Tim wrote the theme as well as provided music for interstitials used throughout the programs. His compositions have been licensed over 60,000 times and can be heard in a variety of media outlets.

As a producer and engineer, his production of Mary Did You Know for the artist Mark Smeby hit #11 on the Amazon Christmas charts and #2 on the Amazon Christian Christmas charts. He has worked with a variety of artist including Billy Ray Cyrus, Duke Robillard, J.P. Pennington, Mark Smeby, Pavel Dovgalyuk, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bodeco, Davinci’s Shadow, and Masked Panic.

When not in the studio Tim keeps busy running his company Brown House Creative LLC and teaching at Belmont University in the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business.
